Ourense Film Festival (OUFF)

Ourense is the land of filmmakers and directors such as Carlos Velo or Antonio Román, among others, a living scene of successful shootings, a strategic enclave of culture and audiovisual creativity and a space linked to the tradition and development of the film industry throughout the province.

The Ourense Film Festival (OUFF) was born in 1996 organized by the Council of Ourense with the clear objective of bringing to the city the best of independent cinema by the hand of its creator, Eloy Lozano. A milestone that citizens lived with emotion to see great figures of national cinema passing through the city.

Since 2018, the Provincial Council of Ourense has been in charge of the OUFF, handing over its organisation to the Carlos Velo Foundation (2018-2024) and to the Luarada Cultural Association (2025-present).

Throughout this time, the festival has been a meeting point for filmmakers, spectators and professionals, who share their passion for stories that cross borders and defy conventions. Also, it is especially focused on a cinema with a clear social component.

Screenings, meetings, workshops and parallel activities turn the city of Ourense into a vibrant showcase of cinema, reaffirming our commitment to diversity and creative freedom, which is demonstrated in each of the editions.
